Crazy Challenge 2020, Summer covid edition…

A handful of "crazy" (and deconfined!) Rallymen and women competed on Sunday to win the trophy of the Debile Challenge 2020 … Atmosphere.

Born from the overflowing imagination of road rallymen Sebastien Fassouli and Stephane Gueguin – names that often come up in scratch rankings or the classics of the French road rally championship -, it was born in 2017. The idea? A delirious recreation for drivers who wish to take a break from their sporting season with strict rules, without straying from the legendary atmosphere of rallies…

The 16 courageous participants of this 2020 edition faced eliminatory heats of 5 rounds, two by two, on an oval for the less sandy located this year in Maruejols-lès-Gardon (30), on a plot provided by the mayor of the village.

The riders took their seats on "stripped" scooters: hedgehog tire at the front, smooth at the rear and no front brake! The only rules are attack and good humor !

Stephane, the main organizer, was responsible for providing the scooters for the event for a day full of good humor in the merciless qualifying series, between aperitif and grilled food.

After the eight races run, the trophy goes this year to Thibaud Doutre ahead of Caroline Gratiot (the passenger of Fabien Assemat in the Duo category of the 2019 French Road Rally Championship) and Fabien Assemat.

A very nice moment of "extraordinary" biker gathering and registrations made primarily by invitation, but open to all to the extent of the capacity of the event. Roll on the 2021 edition … Stay tuned !
