As in 2013, the HRC will run five drivers at the controls of the young – but promising, despite a lack of top speed – CRF450 Rally: Helder Rodrigues, Javier Pizzolito and Sam Sunderland who leave for a lap (of course, obviously!) And the experienced Paulo Goncalves and Joan Barreda (winner of) who land at Honda.
Portugal’s Helder Rodrigues and Argentina’s Javier Pizzolito will start their season in June at Desafio Ruta 40 in Argentina, while Spain’s Joan Barreda and Portuguese Paulo Goncalves will experience the HRC rally bike at the Pharaohs at the end of September. For his part, the Briton Sam Sunderland will line up for the Rallye du Maroc then the Rallye de Merzouga.
The five pilots will continue their training with the objective of the Dakar dunes, which will start on January 5, 2014 in Rosario (Argentina), to end on January 18 in Valparaiso (Chile) after 8,000 km of specials and links..
And contrary to what the photo below may suggest, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez are not thinking of converting to off-roading: the two MotoGP riders of the factory RC213Vs have just posed on the CRF-450 Rally during the conference organized at Mugello !
