There is only one left in the catalog. Here is the least sport of the SportClassics but not the most uninteresting. A simple, classy motorcycle, and very pleasant to drive. High handlebars, good saddle and engine availability, the GT definitely lives up to its name. It would ideally be the link between the Monsters and the STs. Its inspiration draws on the 750 GT from 1970. It differs from other SportClassics by adopting a handlebar instead of straps, a different tank and exhausts, a two-seater saddle, 2 side shocks and plenty of other small details. Its twin desmo air-cooled and two-valve sticks perfectly to the skin. Available, with a very Ducati flexibility and not lazy, the twin is always ready to send the sauce, climbing without apprehension to the edges of the red zone. Suspensions (a little firm anyway) and braking are in tune, ensuring a more than sympathetic behavior to this modern-classic. Only the tires leave a little bitterness in the mix – too wide, too round, they do not allow the GT 1000 to express all its liveliness. A model surely more versatile than its sisters. The renaissance of the Ducati models of yesteryear haunts you but the GT leaves you unmoved … Linger on the Sport or the Paul Smart.
