As is customary at Ducati, the new Bologna hypersport is available in several versions. The traditional 1098 “standard”, “S”, and a high pedigree “R” version already exist, closing a prestigious new family. Come on, let’s not summarize so quickly the birth of a new and beautiful hypersports family. Especially when the S version shares the bedroom with a very “fashion” sister.

She is young, she is sassy, ​​she goes out in trendy corners, she has a green belly, white shoulders, red cheeks … Her name is “Tricolore”. A real girl from Italy, fan of the first day and wriggling as the morning. This special 1098 S livery will not be marketed until 2007. If its colors seem more than familiar to you, it is not only because it was machine washed with the Italian flag without the Decolorstop wipe. … but also the fact that you may have already seen this decoration on a Ducati. Yes ? No ? Look well. Come on …, the first sportswoman with a desmoquattro … Still not? Apart from these colors, the Tricolore is based on a 1098 S, with a few touches. From the 1098 we find the trellis frame, the twin Testastretta Evoluzione with its 160 bolts, the super single-sided swingarm and monobloc radial brake calipers. The S adds to that a 43mm diameter Ohlins FG511 inverted fork, Marchesini forged aluminum rims (1.9kg lighter than the normal 1098 wheels), an Ohlins 46PRC rear shock, some carbon, and a data acquisition system. All you have to do is recover the USB key hidden under the passenger seat after your arsouille then consult your telemetry recording on a computer.
The Tricolor adds to all that a beautiful gold paint on the frame and the rims as well as gear to invigorate the engine.
