More sprint power for the e-bikes

The Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer Energica transfers its racing experience into its series models. A new RS mode optimizes the ability to accelerate.

Energica is the sole supplier to the MotoE racing series. The Italians have currently extended this status up to and including 2022. The experience gained in this electric racing series will now flow into the series machines in the form of an RS mode for the 2021 model year.

The Energica EGO + RS, Energica EVA EsseEsse9 + RS and Energica EVA Ribelle RS models have a new software version that gives the bikes better acceleration. There are no changes on the hardware side. The battery and electric motor remain untouched.

The updated control system reduces the sprint time of the EGO and EVA Ribelle models from zero to 60 mph (96 km / h) by 0.2 seconds to just 2.6 seconds. The generally less powerful EsseEsse comes in for 2.8 seconds. Depending on the model, the specified maximum speed is still 200 to 240 km / h. In order to cope with the additionally released power, the final drive relies on a reinforced O-ring chain.

The RS package also includes RS stickers, a rear stand with swing arm mounts made from Ergal and an indoor motorcycle tarpaulin. The RS packages will be available from February 2021. Energica has not yet given any prices.
