Dirk Schafer’s film “Namibia – 10 lives” is at the same time an adventurous road movie and a worth seeing documentary about the rough and yet fascinating country in south-western Africa. Like hardly any other area in the world, Namibia fulfills the longing for endless space and unspoiled nature. Not least because of this, it is a lifelong dream of many motorcyclists to experience Namibia in the saddle of an enduro. with “Namibia -10 life” the wish becomes a reality, at least in the head.

Dirk Schafer, together with Andreas Prinz and Stephan Fritsch, captured the magic of the country in unique pictures. With two 700 series Teneres and a Landcruiser, the three filmmakers set out on an adventurous and sometimes grueling journey to meet unusual people in Namibia. From committed rhinoceros protectors to desert experts and wacky bon vivants to nature-loving Bushmen: They all tell their touching and curious stories, their ten lives.

The opposite of boredom documentary

Anyone who thinks that they are being promoted to the boredom documentary of a mediocre television station is wrong. Because the trip of the three to just these people has it all. The slopes lead through extinct volcanic craters, bizarre gorge systems and of course to many of Namibia’s well-known highlights. Nine cameras ensure that the viewer is always offered surprising perspectives and can often be there up close on the bikes.
