iXS
Self-presentation by Hostettler / iXS
iXS is part of the internationally active hostettler group. What began in 1906 in Wolhusen in Lucerne as a Swiss family business with a simple bicycle and motorcycle workshop has developed into a versatile company with twelve innovative subsidiaries and more than 500 employees.
The founding of hostettler ag in 1957 laid the foundation for today’s business model. A decisive step in the more than 100-year history of the company was the takeover of the general import of Yamaha motorcycles in 1968. The hostettler autotechnik ag was founded only four years later. Intercycle, a company active in the bicycle sector, followed in 1979, the motorcycle clothing brand iXS Motorcycle Fashion in 1979 and hostettler motoren AG in 1987.
With hostettler gmbh, which was founded in Germany in 1991, our group opened up decisively towards Europe; cosmosport, founded in 1998, embodies flexibility and openness in new trend sports markets. The launch of the brands iXS Sports Division in 2001 and iXS Technical Division in 2008 formed another important basis for a successful future.

LS2 helmets
LS2 helmets.
LS2 helmets.
Self-presentation of LS2 helmets:
LS2 Helmets has specialized exclusively in the development and manufacture of motorcycle helmets since 1990. At that time, Mr. Arthur Liao invested around 350 euros and started a young company in a small workshop with less than 50 square meters. At that time, Mr. Liao could only afford one employee, Mr. Peng Zheng, who is still with the company today. Together they began to manufacture the first LS2 motorcycle helmets.
Just two years later, the demand for LS2 motorcycle helmets increased rapidly. To expand the business, Mr. Liao rented a 320 square meter factory and recruited more than 100 people for the new team. In the meantime, Mr. Stephan Liao, Arthur’s brother, took over the management and took care of the future development of the company. LS2 motorcycle helmets were sold across the country under the Fengxing trademark. In that year the company moved to its own 1,670 square meter factory (1994).
As a pioneer in the motorcycle helmet industry in China, Arthur decided in 1997 to take his vision to the global market and changed the brand name to “MHR”. In order to be seriously noticed in the global market, Arthur had to invest heavily in modernizing the factory, production facilities and technologies. This investment has led to international recognition of MHR products.
In 1999, given its rapid growth, Arthur realized that he could not do this great job on his own. He therefore commissioned his brother Paul to take over the management and expansion of MHR. Paul joined the company on June 28th. This meant that MHR was from now on a consolidated family business. This laid an important foundation for today’s success. In 2000, MHR proudly achieved ISO9000 accreditation. MHR had the necessary knowledge as well as the technologies and infrastructures to produce the LS2 motorcycle helmets of the highest quality. All processing steps, from the raw material to the finished helmet, have been brought together under one roof.
As the company continued to grow, brothers Arthur and Paul invested several million dollars in 2005 to create Jiangmen Pengcheng Helmets LTD. to found. The new company had more than 30,600 m² of production and storage space, employed over 1,000 people and produced more than 2 million motorcycle helmets a year.
2007 was an important year. We realized that if we didn’t expand our production, the company would perish. So we decided to develop our own brand and distribute it worldwide. The question now was how and where to start? Our name emerged from the abbreviation of Liaos System: LS2 was born and registered worldwide. The Liao brothers decided to establish LS2’s headquarters in Barcelona / E. This year LS2 exhibited for the first time at the EICMA, one of the most important motorcycle trade fairs in the world in Milan / I. With this, LS2 showed the courage, the passion and the determination to gain a foothold in the global motorcycle market!
The expansion of LS2 led to the acquisition of a 3,000 m² warehouse in Chicago / USA in 2010. A new team has been formed to bring the LS2 products closer to American and Canadian motorcyclists.
