FSBK - Stephane Duterne beats the lap record for Carole! -

Stephane Duterne, who took part on Sunday in Carole in the 2nd edition of the Defi sous la minute organized by Dunlop France to beat the track record held by Laury Fremy (1’00.751), turned in 1’00.512, setting the new official record !

To try to beat the official lap record for Carole, still held by Laury Fremy in 1’00.751, and to try to pass under the symbolic bar of the minute, Dunlop France had gathered on Sunday on the Parisian circuit some of the best pilots of the French Superbike championship such as Olivier Four (French Supersport champion 2008), the brothers Cedric and Jerôme Tangre, Cyril Brivet, Mickael Savary (Mondial Stocksport) or Stephane Duterne.

After three free practice sessions followed by two Superpoles in the morning, Olivier Four (riding Guillaume Dietrich’s Suzuki 1000 GSX-R) and Stephane Duterne (Yamaha R1) broke away from their pursuers. "Equipped with traditional tires, the two pilots have already managed to fall below the 1 01 00 mark: the record will soon fall !", says Stephane Duterne’s Team Duterne Racing.

Olivier Four started the Superpole first, followed by Stephane Duterne, but the two drivers couldn’t get their lap times … The tension was mounting! Olivier and Stephane put on their second qualifying tire and "Olivier sets a superb time of one minute and 606 thousandths, setting the new track record !", continues Stephane who then sets off, determined to"achieve the perfect lap on the Parisian route"…

And it’s done with a splendid time of 1’00.512, the new official record of the Carole Circuit. !

The minute has not yet fallen, but "It is on this last great performance that I bow out for this year", brilliantly concludes Stephane Duterne who we will find again next year in the French Superbike championship as team manager with three drivers: Arnaud Vincent, Gregory Leblanc and Philippe Le Gallo.
