"A significant effort of the arm at the end of the Italian GP worsened the syndrome", explains his team, and even if there was no emergency to operate, Fabio preferred to do it to avoid possible complications in season course.

"This is an operation that we had not planned, but we decided to do it after discussing with Dr Xavier Mir following the Italian GP", explains Fabio: "the feelings I had during the race were not normal and we thought about the possibility of compartment syndrome, I preferred to treat it now so that I wouldn’t have any nasty surprises later and not think about it for the rest of the season. C ‘was a short operation that is frequently performed on drivers. Now I can’t wait to compete in the GP of Catalonia next week! "

"The operation went well," says Dr Mir. "Fabio will undergo treatment to avoid inflammation and will stay in the hospital for 24 hours, then in a few days he will be able to begin rehabilitation and he should be in good shape for the Catalan Grand Prix".
