The Fat Boy is arguably one of the best known and iconic models in the Harley-Davidson lineup. 20 years after his appearance, a twin brother appeared in 2010, the Fat Boy Special. Presented as a novelty, this model is more like a Fat Boy soaked in a tray of black paint, where only the exhausts would have escaped from drowning. In fact, it goes a step further for this big softail trying to join the Dark Customs family. In terms of finish and refinement details, we perceive that the Twin Cam 96B shelters the black between its cooling fins but lets the chrome invade the rest of the mechanics. The \ ‘mini beach \’ stainless steel handlebars are narrower but larger in diameter, accommodating the electric cables inside. The full rims machine-gunned on the perimeter are also covered in black, except on the edge. Same treatment for the headlight, the exhausts and the fork, dark as night, then ending with a touch of stainless steel. The saddle has been hollowed out by 10 mm which allows the new handlebars to merge with the bike (according to the manufacturer). For this Fat Boy Special, we won’t really be talking about something new but rather a \ ‘trendy \’ version..
