At 5 degrees the glove is still warm enough, at 25 degrees you don’t sweat excessively.

Cuff problem: Almost too small to wear over the sleeve, but quite large to thread underneath.

Before most long motorcycle tours, the same question arises again and again: What will the weather be like? If the weather situation is clear, the decision for the right clothing is easy – but if it is indifferent, you will be happy to have versatile travel companions. One of them is for sure the hero Zambia 2-in-1 Gore-Tex glove.
With its well-known 2-in-1 technology, it pairs a waterproof glove for driving in the rain with an airy summer glove – the glove has two access options in one compartment with a membrane and lining and one without. The equipment features include side shells made of hard plastic, a hard plastic shell as knuckle protection, palm reinforcement and palm protection made of SuperFabric material. The index finger of the left hand has a wiper lip for the visor, stretch inserts on the back of the hand ensure an optimal fit, the perforated palm made of kangaroo leather ensures breathability. As a special highlight, the index fingertips are equipped with special leather, which enables touch displays on navigation systems and smartphones to be operated. Actually works! The Velcro fasteners for adjusting the width on the wrist and the cuffs are almost classic.
Works in hot and cold conditions and is tight
If the Zambia is driven in the unlined chamber, it is a little warmer than a pure summer glove, since the “dry” chamber with the lining is on top – i.e. on the outside. To compensate for this, the perforation on the inner surface works efficiently. If it rains, you can quickly slip into the Gore-Tex chamber. Despite the accumulation of material on the inside, there are no wrinkles and the grip remains good. Even after a long journey in the rain, the fingers stayed dry. And even at temperatures around 5 degrees, the Zambia provides sufficient protection against the cold.
The gauntlets are a general problem. Even at the widest setting, they are almost too tight to wear over a textile jacket. But if you want them under the sleeve to form an optimal rain stop, they are too thick for many jackets. In addition, only one cuff can easily be stowed in the sleeve. The second cuff then needs to be stowed away with a lot of fiddling with the already gloved hand.
Noticed positively: good fit, comfortable, good workmanship
Noticed negatively: Gauntlets too big or too small
Sizes: Women 6 – 8, men 7 – 12, as well as various short and long sizes
Price: 179.95 euros
MOTORCYCLE Rating: 4.5 stars out of a possible 5
Conclusion
The hero Zambia is not a cheap glove with a price of 179.95 euros, but one that is very universal and can be used over a wide temperature range and is absolutely tight and comfortable. It is available in three color combinations, six men’s, three women’s and four short and long sizes.
