The Honda Zoomer is probably the most bizarre thing that ever drove under the Honda wing. We had the rolling frame from 2004 to 2012. In the USA it still exists as Ruckus.

Of course, a scooter can also simply be built and sold without a fairing. In the case of Honda’s Zoomer 50, this even worked well in Germany. From 2004 to 2012 there was the small 50s with the free-hearted way to buy. The zoomer is still around in the US, but it’s called Ruckus and has a carburetor.
Zoomer or Ruckus
The American ruckus differs from the European zoomer in two essential ways. On the one hand, the Ruckus is still available to buy, and on the other hand, the US frame scooter has a carburetor instead of injection. The engine is still the water-cooled 50s stew, which is, however, slightly less compressed in the USA. The performance should still be around four horsepower.

There are new colors for 2021, especially the two-tone frames look great.
For 2021, the Americans have given the Ruckus fresh paint, especially the variants with the differently painted frame parts stand out positively here. Technically, the Zoomer 50 was a treat back then. The water pump with a magnetic drive, virtually maintenance-free, and the combination of starter and alternator was a sensation at the time. And where there is no plastic, nothing can break if you fall. In 2012, the maintenance intervals were already generous at 4,000 kilometers. Price then 2,445 euros all inclusive. In the US, the Ruckus costs 2,889 dollars today, which is the equivalent of 13 euros less. Which is noteworthy against the background of increasingly expensive motorcycles.

Conclusion
Of course, the Zoomer 50 or Ruckus is in the category “Bizarre” difficult to beat and maybe with all the joy in the editorial office swings over the ruckus, since only the own story with the rolling scooter frame is included. Honda will probably no longer bring the Zoomer 50 in Europe, with its simplicity with all the technical beating of current scooters, it would only be able to tear a little. Or is it??
