Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R
Supersport dwarf with 45 hp
Kawasaki pulled the towel from a new quarter-liter super sports car in Tokyo in October 2019. The Ninja ZX-25R uses an inline four-cylinder engine. This was later followed by a video showing the little ninja in action. Then a racing version was added.
First of all: the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R will probably never find its way onto the German market, because it is designed for the Indonesian market. Nevertheless, it is worth more than just a look.
Kawasaki is currently the only manufacturer to send an in-line four-cylinder into the race in the quarter-liter class. The 249 cm³ four-stroke engine was completely redeveloped and should combine a lot of power in the middle with plenty of top performance for its cubic capacity. Expressed in numbers, this means a peak performance of 45 hp, which the in-line four-cylinder, which rotates up to 17,000 turns, delivers. With the ram-air effect, the Greens even want to have measured 50 hp. The maximum torque should be 23 Nm. The compression is given as 11.5: 1. It is shifted by a six-speed gearbox, blipper and servo anti-hopping clutch. A traction control ensures the grip level.
A steel tubular space frame winds around the four-cylinder. In a video published in mid-March 2020, the little Kawa super sports car can be seen on the Jerez race track. In the video, SBK series champion Jonathan Rea and Kawasaki teammate Alex Lowes do some test laps with the ZX-25R:
High quality equipment
In terms of lines and war paint, the Ninja ZX-25R also follows the big models visually. The exhaust pipe ends boldly directly behind the right footrest. The aluminum swing arm has banana-shaped bars and a 37 mm USD big piston fork grips the wheel at the front. It is decelerated by a radially attached monoblock brake calliper. To this end, Kawasaki composes control systems such as traction control and various driving modes as well as a quickshifter.
Racing variant presented
Kawasaki
In April 2020, the Japanese will step up again and show a racing version of the new Kawasaki ZX-25R. It shows itself completely dressed in carbon. Even the tank and swingarm shine in a carbon look. There are also new spring elements and new levers. The package is rounded off by a new racing exhaust system that works without a front silencer and conventionally carries the silencer to the right of the rear. Kawasaki itself does not want to produce a real racing version of the ZX-25R, but with this concept it shows what possibilities the basic motorcycle offers.
