The recent changes to the Dakar rules initially put a chill on the manufacturers (especially the orange-skinned one), with the new displacement limit supposedly redistributing the cards. Scared by the affair, KTM initially moaned copiously and then embarked on the development of a shock 450. Here is the adventurer destined to replace the glorious 690 Rally Replica. No ambiguity possible: it is a genuine competitor, ready to cross the desert as soon as it leaves the cash register. Equipped with a generous pair of studded wheels, the 450 RALLY impresses more by its dimensions than by its displacement. Its suspension travel is exceptional, with 300mm at the front and 310mm at the rear. What to optimize to the maximum its capacities of crossing. Frankly high on legs, the Katoche will force you to take the big gap to get on board: 980 mm saddle height.

The equipment provided allows you to immediately imagine beautiful stages: road-book, Akrapovic racing exhaust, 3 spare engines, number plate location, double tank with 35 liters of capacity, and competition genes strongly anchored in each corner of the grinding wheel. Cut out for the great outdoors, arid plains and desert traps, the 450 does not intend to marvel at the scenery but unrestrainedly raise large clouds of dust. Not communicated, the power of 449 cm3 would exceed 60 horses. A similar performance is enough to give wings and a good speed on the rolling track. On the other hand, immediately forget the purchase of the swimming pool to garnish your property: the KTM 450 RALLY costs even more.
