French motorcycle and scooter market: 2014 annual report
After six years of decline, the French motorcycle market returned to growth in 2014: + 2.5%. This year, 44,844 125 cc motorcycles and scooters (+ 1.3%) and 94,648 large cubes (+ 3.0%) were registered. Site takes stock.
December in the general trend 2014
For the French motorcycle market, 2014 has just ended with a twelfth month that is generally calm and like the top eleven as a whole: 6,162 motorcycles and scooters (excluding 50 cc mopeds) found takers during the month. last, an increase of + 2.2% compared to the – small – month of .
As is often the case this year and unlike 2013, the 125 cc and larger engines followed different trajectories in December – even opposite ones – since sales of 125 increased by + 9.9% and those of large cubes ("+ of 125 cc ") decreased by -1.3%.
Given the low volumes sold at the end of the year, the impact for December is low. However, it allows the 125 cc to improve their 2013 score by a large point in the end (+ 1.3%). Sales of large cubes in 2014 increased even more sharply: + 3.0%.
