Morini 11 1-2 2015

To discover Moto-Morini is to engage in a somewhat particular universe, with the artisanal flavor and an Italian taste that is as dry as it is strong in the mouth. The entry level is now called 11 1/2. A generous displacement roadster, less violent than the Corsaro Veloce and a direct descendant of the 9 1/2.

If the old 9 and a half prohibited numerical logic with its twin of 1187 cm3, its descendant with the same engine is given a more consistent first name. The style is sober, far from the extravagances conveyed by streetfighters of all stripes. It’s no-nonsense roadster, where form doesn’t need more. We regret all the same that the 11 1/2 is not recovered the spoked rims of the 9 1/2. On the other hand, we appreciate the saddle in the “Arabic Sand” color, contrasting with the omnipresent “Matt black”.
The mechanics do not play in the same clan as the Corsaro. Here, the twin comes out 117 horsepower. A choice assumed to offer more availability to intermediate plans. And especially not to overshadow a big brother billed much more expensive. However, the 11 1/2 is not a low-cost motorcycle. The selection of equipment sets the tone: 320mm brakes and Brembo rims, Verlicchi tubular steel frame, 50mm Marzocchi inverted fork, Paioli offset damper, carbon chain guard and mudguards. An anti-slip clutch prevents the rear wheel from locking during strong decelerations. To convince, the 11 and a half will first have to endure being compared to the legendary neighbor of Bologna..
