Motorcycle CRD 62 Honda NX 650 Dominator

Cafe Racer conversion from Cafe Racer Dreams

The Spanish customizers from Cafe Racer Dreams have built a stylish Cafe Racer out of a 1990 Honda NX 650 Dominator.

B.With this conversion, the customizers from Cafe Racer Dreams decided to put a chic retro racer on the wheels without neglecting the typical enduro features of the legendary Honda NX 650 Dominator. And the plan has worked out pretty well so far, as we think. Only the headlights, which are not symmetrically arranged, might not meet with much approval from some observers – a matter of taste, as they say in the vernacular …

1990s Dominator as the basis

An NX 650 Dominator from model year 1990 serves as the basis for the conversion, which incidentally took almost two months. Correspondingly, the single-cylinder engine with 644 cm³ from Honda makes 44 hp at 6,000 rpm. In order to be able to put the conversion on the wheels, the team from Cafe Racer Dreams had to install a specially developed subframe. For the tank, the Spaniards used the Yamaha XT 500, as they say they have had good experiences with the same in the recent past. The asymmetrical headlights mentioned above were also developed in-house. For the fork, footrests and brakes, on the other hand, the customizers rely on the original components of the Dominator.

The customizers should have needed two months for the conversion.

For the exhaust system, it was decided to use components from the US manufacturer SuperTrapp. Cafe Racer Dreams also relies on components from an external manufacturer for the rims and tires. The wheels come from Excel, the tires are supplied by Firestone. When it comes to painting, the Spaniards use silver-gray and black color elements. There is also a slightly curved bench in brown that goes well with the rest of the bike. The company logo and the number 62 can also be seen in some places on the motorcycle. The customizers at Cafe Racer Dreams do not mention how much money the conversion cost. However, the two-month workload shows that a lot of heart and soul has gone into the Moto CRD 62.

Conclusion

With the Moto CRD 62, the customizers from Coffee Racer Dreams show what can become of a 1990 Honda Dominator. Incidentally, the French manufacturer Mash also relies on the drive from the legendary Dominator and uses the same for the Dirt Track 650, which was released in 2019.
