Suzuki aiming for victory in Valencia
With four podiums in the last five races (and eight in total this year), the official Suzuki MotoGP riders arrive in Valencia with a knife between their teeth: Alex Rins hopes to clinch his first victory, while Andrea Iannone dreams of leaving by the big door before its season at Aprilia… Explanations.
The progress of the official Suzuki is clear and sharp: zero podium last year against eight this year (5 third places and 3 second)! Enough to give wings to the two official GSX-RR riders, who dream of a victory for the last race of the MotoGP season…

"Our objective is as clear as it is obvious: we want to fight for the top step of the podium!", Warns Alex Rins, 5th in the championship with 149 points (tied with Johann Zarco but with one more podium): "we Obviously arrives in Valence very enthusiastic with our performances on the rise and our podiums (2nd in and in and 3rd in and in, Editor’s note) ".
"We proved that we were ready for victory, the bike and my driving have improved a lot, we have to work and do our best", concludes the Spaniard who will next year. "Most of the riders enjoy the Valencia circuit and our GSX-RR can be effective on this track".
"We know it won’t be easy, but why not?"
Andrea Iannone, 9th in the championship with 133 points (just ahead), is leaving for. Suffice to say that this is the moment or never to achieve another good result, or even a first victory over the Suzuki. "The Valencia circuit is nice and it can be good for us. Last year I qualified on the front row (in, Editor’s note) and with Alex we had a good race (respectively and, Editor’s note).
"If we consider the considerable progress made since 2017, we can really envision a good weekend," continues the Italian. "We are on a good trend at the moment so I’m optimistic. In Malaysia I felt that I could fight for the podium (editor’s note). We will try to give everything we have, to be consistent and to stay close to the outposts, so that we can aim for a good result. It would be a nice way to separate ".
"We are very happy with the way in which we managed to reverse the situation compared to last year", confirms Davide Brivio, Suzuki team manager: "in Valencia we will try again, we know it will not be easy but … why not? We always do our best. I know the drivers are highly motivated: Andrea will be racing his last race with us so he will try to get out through the front door while Alex, who will be racing at home in Spain afterwards his two overseas podiums, will be even more confident ".
