Bruno Schiltz winner of the 15th Rallye du Dourdou

After a beating of anthology, the fifteenth edition of the Dourdou rally, third round of the 2018 championship, is won by the reigning French champion Bruno Schiltz, riding his JMP Racing Aprilia 1100 Tuono. Report.

Friday evening, the fifteenth edition of the Dourdou rally is launched like on most other road rallies by two openers motorcycles, the "00" and "0" motorcycles.

This year, the one that opens the ball has never carried its number so well: for the first time, an electric motorcycle appears in rally and it is a Zero loaned by the Probike store in Rodez (12), driven by a member from the organizing club, the MCV (Moto Club de Villecomtal), Joël Fau, who precedes the competitors as "00".

He is followed by his brother Christian Fau, also of the MCV, who wears the number "0" on the very last model of Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory (the motorcycle of the year in road rally?) Loaned by the Aprilia dealer of Rodez, Center Deux Roues.

From the first special, Bruno Schiltz opened fire on the handlebars of his Aprilia 1100 Tuono and set himself the best time. It is just over 7 tenths ahead of Romain Cauquil’s KTM 690 Duke CTM83. Third time for the Aprilia 1000 Tuono of Julien Toniutti, more than 5 seconds behind !

At the second special stopwatch, St Felix de Lunel, it was Romain Cauquil who took the upper hand by slamming the best pendulum more than 9 tenths ahead of Bruno Schiltz and nearly two seconds ahead of the Husqvarna 701 of Luc Breban.

After the first loop of the race, the time penalties start to fall … A light rain has settled in and the route is rather technical with a lot of gravel. In addition, navigation is not the easiest and "gardening" (finding your way) is going well. !

At the end of this first stage, more than 50% of the participants receive penalties for being late at time checks (and some also check in early!). In the second stop in Golinhac, the reigning French champion Bruno Schiltz sets the record straight and glues 1.31 seconds to the second, Julien Toniutti.

"I can not get into the race", then admits Julien Toniutti to MNC … To believe that between his recent, the and his, Julien sometimes has some small problems to refocus ?

At the last special of this first stage, Saint Felix de Lunel, Luc Breban (Husqvarna 701) wins the pompom! This time Julien Toniutti is only 3 hundredths behind and Bruno Schiltz almost 8 tenths.

Bruno Schiltz therefore won this first stage with more than 6 seconds over Romain Cauquil and 5 seconds more over Luc Breban. Julien Toniutti is almost a second behind Luc Breban.

The arrival of the last competitor, around 2:30 am, implies a short night for the pilots who will resume the start at 10 am tomorrow morning..
