Dourdou rally: the Toniutti roundup !

One floor of the Eiffel Tower above the other competitors, Julien Toniutti left them nothing but crumbs and won the race by largely winning all the stages. Meanwhile, Bruno Schiltz takes the lead over Velardi for the championship… Story.

For the fourteenth time in Aveyron, the Dourdou rally took place in Villecomtal (12) on July 21 and 22. Always so well organized by the Moto Club de Villecomtal (MCV), the event retains its inverted pattern for this 14th edition (night stage before the day stage).

A little more trying than starting with the day stage, this "backwards" course (which was already used several decades ago) is meeting with some success with pilots and is found on more and more rallies: after Sarthe and Corsica, Dourdou is the third race of the year that uses this race pattern.

A first stage therefore takes place on Friday evening, followed by the second on Saturday (with a short night’s sleep between the two stages!). This principle allows everyone to celebrate the end of the rally with a small fiesta on Saturday evening, cup giving mass on Sunday at the end of the morning..

Night before day or vice versa: nothing will prevent Julien Toniutti from flying over the competition on the handlebars, once again, of a loaned motorcycle! This time it is at the controls of Sebastien Fassouli’s Aprilia Tuono V4, who has just decided to stop driving in a road rally – station wagon or premature retirement? Case to be continued … – that Julien will atomize everyone.

The Lyonnais has adapted perfectly to this new mount which he really liked! "Perfect for rallying, this machine is a weapon, a weapon!" explains Julien to MNC after the race.

We are therefore in the seventh and penultimate round of the championship and even if the category winners are starting to appear relatively clearly, nothing has yet been decided for the supreme title of French champion Elite SW Motech…
