Italian designer Massimo Tamburini has passed away
The famous Italian motorcycle designer Massimo Tamburini, to whom we owe in particular the Ducati 916 or the MV Agusta F4, died yesterday at the age of 70 years of lung cancer.

Born on November 28, 1943 in Rimini (Italy), on the shores of the Adriatic, a stone’s throw from the Misano circuit, Massimo Tamburinio was the "Ta" of Bimota, the brand he had founded in 1965 with Valerio Bianchi ( "Bi") and Giuseppe Morri ("Mo") to manufacture … air conditioners, before turning to the production of motorcycles.
20 years later, he joined Cagiva – which then just bought Ducati – and designs motorcycles that will make a milestone like the 916 in 1993, which will make its Superbike debut in the hands of Carl Fogarty in 1994.
Particularly inspired and recognized designer, who in his own words had "devoted an important part of my career to the design of motorcycles for Cagiva and MV Agusta", Massimo Tamburini had left MV Agusta in 2008 after its takeover by Harley-Davidson (read).
