A significant drop in complaints compared to 2012
Despite its scale (one theft every 10 minutes!), The number of thefts reported last year is down sharply compared to the previous year: the total drops from to 48,820 in 2013 according to statistics provided by the National Observatory of Delinquency and Criminal Responses (ONDRP).

For “more than 30%” of those polled in the ICA survey, the theft factor nevertheless remains “one of the three most important criteria” when buying a two-wheeler.
In short: almost a third of bikers and scooter riders would take into account the risk of attracting the attention of a rogue before choosing their future mount !
Specializing in anti-theft devices, engraving and tracking systems (devices allowing to geolocate a stolen vehicle), ICA even ensures that among the 59% of users whose stolen two-wheeler has not been found, 56% of people interviewed would have indicated having changed brands when buying a new vehicle.
"Theft is therefore a sensitive subject for manufacturers", assures ICA by ostensibly throwing them a pole to convince them to imitate the approach followed by Yamaha on its: the king of urban maxi-scooters, ultra-courted by thieves and other receivers, is now supplied with one and its one-year subscription.
Geolocation to the rescue
ICA distributes for this purpose the two-wheel tracking solution designed by Cobra, one of the three companies of the Identicar group (with ICA and La Complementaire Auto): the CobraTrak 2W. Like its competitors, this device uses GPS / GSM (mobile phone network) technologies to precisely geolocate the stolen motorcycle or scooter..
Very sophisticated, the CobraTrak 2W operates in complete autonomy and automatically alerts one of the 40 remote monitoring platforms in the event of "movement of the two-wheeler with the engine off, battery sabotage or disconnection of the GPS antenna".
If necessary, assistance can remotely activate the horn to try to scare away thieves, while a mobile application (compatible with iOS and Android) allows you to locate your two-wheeler and directly contact a remote monitoring platform..
