Site: After six years of constant decline, the French motorcycle market returned to growth in 2014 with + 2.5% (read our). In the first half of 2015, the increase was limited to + 0.8% (read our). Should we be worried ?
Mickaël Walls, MBK Sales and Marketing Director:
At the end of the first half of 2015, the overall market (125 cc and more) was finally slightly positive (+ 0.75%) thanks to a very buoyant month of June, and after a particularly penalizing month of May (bridges). This trend is stimulated by new products on all markets (motorbikes and scooters).

MNC: Regarding MBK, what is your assessment of your first six months of 2015? ?
Mr. W.:
The 50 cc scooter market is still struggling with a drop of nearly -9% over the first half of the year. We are nevertheless continuing to drive this segment with conviction by introducing our Deezer Booster, the first series connected scooter, in the spring, and by supporting the network with specific financing offers. MBK maintains its position in the 125 scooter segment with a wide range that meets customer expectations. The arrival in the spring of the ABS version of Tryptik allows us to reach a new clientele in search of a safe and affordable product. Finally, concerning the maxi scooter market, we are within our sales objectives for the Evolis 250/400 on the MTT1 segment..

MNC: For you, what is the highlight of this first half of the year? ?
Mr. W.:
More structural than cyclical, the continued decline of the 50 cc market remains a worrying element for us.

MNC: How is your second semester going? ?
Mr. W.:
We intend to further strengthen our positions in the second half of the year with the arrival in early July of the Ocito 125, our new compact GT scooter, efficient, economical and fitted with ABS as standard, thus offering excellent value for money on this segment. We will also continue our efforts around the Evolis and the Tryptik. Finally, the Motorcycle Scooter Quad and Equipment Show, which will take place from December 1 to 6, 2015 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, represents an important moment for MBK because it is the opportunity to be in contact with our customers and benefit from a welcome media spotlight for the profession.

MNC: Finally, the government has still not settled the question of the "retrofit" (read). How this lack of response impacts your business ?
Mr. W.:
MBK, specializing in urban mobility markets, is not directly affected by this problem. Nevertheless we understand the legitimate concerns of the profession and deplore the lack of anticipation and communication of the administration on a subject which is not without consequences for professionals in the sector..
