Site: After six years of constant decline, the French motorcycle market returned to growth in 2014 with + 2.5% (read our). In the first half of 2015, the increase was limited to + 0.8% (read our). Should we be worried ?
Jean-Luc Mars, General Manager Triumph France:
Overall, we can consider that the market has been stable for two years, after a severe decline. It is established that the French motorcycle market is strongly correlated with the country’s economy, and it is difficult to expect better under the current circumstances. It is all the more frustrating that certain European markets, such as Spain or England, are in strong recovery.

MNC: Regarding Triumph, what is your assessment of your first six months of 2015? ?
J.-L. M .:
2015 is a year of transition for us and the results are broadly in line with our expectations. The success of the Classic range is very good news for us.

MNC: For you, what is the highlight of this first half of the year? ?
J.-L. M .:
The year 2015 confirms a strong trend in motorbike practice in our country, with the success of the neo-retro movement and all that is related to it. It’s a real culture, centered around the simple pleasures of motorcycling, personalization and outings with friends. The success of the various events this spring is a good indicator of the evolution of this community and the trends of tomorrow..

MNC: How is your second semester going? ?
J.-L. M .:
Very dense! We look forward to the fall fair season !

MNC: Finally, the government has still not settled the question of the "retrofit" (read). How this lack of response impacts your business ?
J.-L. M .:
It is never good to be in a time of legal uncertainty! We are probably not the brand most affected by this unfortunate situation, but we are obviously suffering a small drop in sales of potentially unlockable machines while waiting for the issue to be resolved..
