The start of the school year was difficult for 125 cc scooters and motorcycles in France: their sales plunged -14.2% in September 2017 (Vs 2016). Large cubes are doing better with a decline of -1.2% that the calendar and the weather can erase. MNC delivers its analysis.

In France in September 2017, 12,395 motorcycles and scooters over 50 cc were registered. Compared to, the motorcycle market therefore recorded a drop of -6.2% which, again this month, is due to the decline of 125…

Small engines are less valiant than last year: since the beginning of the year, their sales have fallen by -7.3%. In the month of September alone, they fell more pretty ugly: 4,391 registrations, against + 9.2% during the – satisfactory, beautiful and warm – month of September 2016.

Examining the MNC charts on the following pages, we see that the main players in the sector are also the main responsible for this -14.7% decrease: decrease to a lesser extent but decrease all the same, and fall while dive.

MNC deduces from this that the 125 scooters – so much more practical than cars for going to work when the weather is nice and mild, but a little too restrictive when the rain and the freshness are showing – have undoubtedly missed sales with French "scootomobilists".
