As anticipated this winter (read) and confirmed by photos "stolen" this summer (read), the 2016 Explorer range (road oriented with the Explorer XR, Explorer XRx and Explorer XRt and their stick wheels, or all-terrain with the Explorer XC, Explorer XCx and Explorer XCa and their wire wheels) adopt semi-active suspensions for the high-end versions, such as the Trophy 1200 SE (read our).

From entry level (XR and XC) to the most premium versions (XCa and XRt), the Explorer born in 2012 retains in 2016 the same three-cylinder 1215 cc – which would deliver "more power", ensures Triumph without communicating any encrypted data for the moment – its cardan transmission and its smooth and progressive clutch (read our first).

Euro4 obliges, the new Tiger Explorer 2016 adopt a new silencer and several technological evolutions essentially turned towards "a better control": semi-active suspensions for the XRx, XRt, XCx and XCa, ABS and disconnectable traction control (optimized with sensor d (inclination for these four top-of-the-range versions), control modes including a programmable pilot mode and hill-hold control.

The six models of Tiger Explorer 2016 also benefit from an electrically adjustable windscreen, allowing the pilot "to adjust the aerodynamic protection while riding". We salute this first in the world of maxitrails – where until now the screen was adjusted manually -, hoping that this feature will not weigh too much on the Explorer, whose weight (259 kg for the current standard version and 267 kg for its XC variation) is precisely one of the rare faults … To be continued naturally on MNC: stay connected !
