Number 1 in 2014 sales of motorcycles over 500 cc in Germany, Italy and Spain, number 2 in France but with the firm intention of becoming number one, BMW is tackling small-displacement vehicles with the Indian TVS Motors. And the first model is already rolling !

Signed almost two years ago, will soon come to fruition. Images of their future small motorcycle have indeed "leaked" on the web, via the very serious American site .

On the pictures published by our colleagues from across the Atlantic, we discover a new roadster, "small" compared to the current production of BMW but "strong" if we compare it to the TVS Apache 150, 160 or 180 (!): it features an inverted fork, a liquid-cooled engine, front and rear disc brakes, large tires…

The plastic is also particularly worked: if the front face does not resume – a priori! – the asymmetrical appearance of the – very – big sister, the sheared radiator scoops and the wrapping around the tank – which is just waiting for the logo on the propeller! – gives it an undeniable family resemblance.

This future small BMW (S300R, S400R, difficult to estimate its displacement) being only at the prototype stage, it is still necessary to show indulgence towards the basic black exhaust and the salient oil filter which would benefit from being hidden and protected by a cute engine spoiler.

German and Indian engineers still have a little work to do, but see you this fall in Milan or next year in Cologne to judge the final result … To be continued on MNC: stay tuned !
