701 Supermoto: the first road bike of the "HVA-KTM" era

Like the 690 SMC R, the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is a fun and light bike (145 kg dry) with a single cylinder spitting out 67 hp and 68 Nm. More than respectable values given its architecture! Hyper compact and light (43.4 kg), this modern engine receives an electronic accelerator, an anti-slip clutch and three driving modes selectable thanks to a control under the saddle.

As typical supermot ‘as its "organ donor" from KTM, this new Husqvarna expected "for the end of summer 2015" receives WP suspensions and a tubular trellis frame, two technical and aesthetic signatures specific to the KTM range.

The message is clear: yes, Husqvarna is back on the road, but under the close supervision of its new owner who takes care to explore a niche market with his brand rather than reinvesting a more "bankable" niche like that of roadsters. Not crazy, the wasp of Mattighofen !

Likewise, the braking system is identical between the Husqvarna and the KTM, with in particular a radial fixing caliper with 2-pistons from ByBre, the Indian subsidiary of Brembo (country where the small KTM Duke are also built by its partner ).
