News - EICMA news: Vitpilen Husqvarna, between concept and future marketing - Used HUSQVARNA

Last year at the Milan Motor Show, Husqvarna announced its return to the road bike market with a big supermoto (the 701 Supermoto based on the KTM 690 SMC, recently released) and two Cafe racer-style concepts (401 Vitpilen) and Scrambler (401 Svartpilen). Last year at the Milan Motor Show, Husqvarna announced its return to the road bike market via a big supermoto (the 701 Supermoto based on KTM 690 SMC,) and Cafe racer (401 Vitpilen) and Scrambler (401 Svartpilen) style. ). One year later, the brand passed in the plans for the "spring 2017" the arrival in dealerships of two versions of Vitpilen – based on 125 and 390 Duke -, and celebrates the event by revealing a third prototype of 700 cc !

Husqvarna shoots a new white arrow

Like the concepts – including the Cafe Racer based on the Duke 390 – this 701 Vitpilen ("silver arrow" in Swedish) revolves around a KTM engine base, in this case the LC4 single cylinder installed on the 690 Duke and SMC.

Husqvarna grafted him a prominent air filter – partially integrated into the trim under the saddle – as well as a raised aluminum silencer. Brembo brakes and WP (KTM brand) suspensions reinforce its premium appearance.

Far removed from the "distinct" stylistic codes in force at Katoche, this concept combines elegance and a search for detail, particularly in terms of its very beautiful round LED optic at the front and its tank with rounded shapes.

If the chassis consists of a front part identical to the KTM (tubular steel trellis), the rear loop is more daring with a structure partly made of carbon fibers.

Behind the concept, motorcycles ready to land in dealerships !

Like all concepts, this 701 Vitpilen is not necessarily promised to a commercial reality: this very beautiful motorcycle is rather intended to translate the capacity of Husqvarna to explore new avenues, then to measure the interest of it with the public. This is the concept of the concept !

However, the Swedish-born brand – which this year celebrates the 112th anniversary of its first motorcycle – does not intend to make its fans languish forever with salon prototypes. During this 2015 edition of EICMA in Milan, Husqvarna certified that the Vitpilen 401 would be available in dealerships in "spring 2017".

Another good news: this cafe racer built on the basis of the KTM 390 Duke roadster (photo at the bottom of the page) will be accompanied "simultaneously in stores" by a Vitpilen 125 identical in terms of design, but powered by a single-cylinder 125 cc 4- time. No need to look far for the origin of this new small displacement, logically derived from the KTM 125 Duke !
