A few weeks after the presentation of the, appear on some forums the pictures of a new Daytona 675! Triumph’s new Supersport surely gears up for the Milan show…

During our visit to the Triumph stand at the last Intermot show in Cologne, the general manager of the British brand in France (see our) wanted to keep the suspense concerning the arrival of a new version of the Dayto, modeled on the Street 2013 (standard and R, read). The "suspense" was not breathless, however….

First of all, "stolen" photos of the had been published in summer 2011 by our English colleagues from MCN, that is to say well before the series of pictures taken by Infomotori.com on the handlebars of the !

Then, since their launch (in 2006 for the, in 2007 for the), the two motorcycles have remained very close. At the same time, when the Speed Triple 1050 adopted its hexagonal lights in 2011, the little sister 675 immediately followed suit. !

We could therefore suspect that the Hinckley firm would not derogate from the rule in 2013: in order to make the most of its production equipment, Triumph would most certainly have to replace its "old" Daytona with a model equipped with the new elements of the Street.

For the record, the small – but strong – English roadster which will land next month mainly benefits from a new lighter aluminum chassis, a single silencer and in low position, a completely redesigned rear part (outside as inside since it should accommodate a U), a coded key and optional ABS.

In the photos of the sports car, we can note that the Daytona 2013 retains its own swingarm: on the left side, the chain always passes through the aluminum part. The front fork and brakes also appear to be unchanged, but caution: changes may be internal !

The Daytona 675 should also see its weight melt by several kilos to approach 180 kg all full. In terms of price, we can bet that Triumph will use the same method as for the Street: "we hope to be able to contain it at the current level", Jean-Luc Mars told us at the beginning of the month … Case to follow in a month on MNC at EICMA Milan fair: stay connected !
