News - News 2015 EICMA: MV Agusta launches three Touring bikes - MV Agusta: Touring at all speeds

Unveiled last year at the EICMA show, the Turismo Veloce and its luxury version ” Lusso ” are back in Milan in their final version. These two new MV Agusta motorcycles are accompanied in the Touring segment by a Stradale. Presentations.

MV Agusta: Touring at all speeds

Discovered last year on the podiums of the EICMA 2013 show (read), the Turismo Veloce 800 and its luxurious "Lusso" version are in the process of being approached: the two Touring motorcycles "made in Varese" will land in French dealerships at the start of the year 2015.

"This is a capital market segment for the brand and the Italians were keen to present perfectly accomplished motorcycles, hence this launch later than expected.", explained to us during the recent Remy Hasser, network development manager at MV Agusta France..

As a result, an unexpected "rival" took the opportunity to make the interior of the two road cars: it was the Stradale 800, whose arrival had been announced to us … two weeks ago (read)! Like the Turismo Veloce, this 2015 novelty – which will arrive in dealerships at the end of November 2014 – is based on the Rivale.

Aesthetically very close to the Transalpine Supermotard (read our), the Stradale is distinguished internally by an engine with reduced maximum values: the power of the Tre Pistoni of 800 cc is limited to 115 hp at 11,000 rpm, the torque to 78 , 5 Nm 2000 rpm lower (against 125 hp at 12,000 rpm and 84 Nm at 8,600 rpm on the Rivale).

But let the thrill-seekers rest assured: if the Italian engine manufacturers have erased the still supersport accents of their 3-cylinder (discovered on the F3!), It is for better "combine elasticity and amazing acceleration"…

The Stradale is naturally equipped with the famous MVICS (Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System) which notably integrates the four mapping modes: Sport giving access to the "full" engine, Normal softer and restricted to 90 hp, particularly considerate Rain and the last customizable.

The Bosch 9 Plus ABS and the traction control adjustable on eight levels are also part of the game, as is the "EAS 2.0" module whose "Up and Down" quickshifter allows up and down gears without disengaging. A system tested and approved by MNC on the very last Brutale 800 RR (read our).

The cycle part (frame, suspensions, brakes and rims) is renewed as a whole and only the single-sided swingarm has been lengthened so as to bring the wheelbase of the Stradale to 1460 mm (+50 mm), the final goal being of course improve traction.

The weight is not specified (as a reminder, that of the supermot ‘was estimated at 178 kg dry), but the capacity of the tank is "16 liters plus 4 liters reserve", proudly announce our transalpine neighbors (against 12.9 l only on the Rivale).

"Streets of large cities, country roads and highways", the Stradale is supposed to be at ease in all situations, and its rider with! For that, the" Rivale Touring "offers a saddle a little lower (870 mm anyway), an adjustable nose screen fingers and a pair of small suitcases.

Three colors (Red / Silver, White / Gray or Bronze / White) will be available in dealerships at the end of November. The Stradale will be displayed there "around 700 to 800 euros more expensive than the Rivale, so under 14,000 €", assured us on his stand Remy Hasser (see our).

MV Agusta small, medium or large Tourism

For bikers who want to go further and for longer, two "real" roads will arrive at the beginning of 2015. Better equipped and more successful, they will necessarily be more expensive … The New Year’s gifts will not be too much. !

Advertised at € 15,990 in Italy, the "normal" version of the Turismo Veloce will cost in France "around € 16,000, normally just below", hopes Remy Hasser:"at that price, we already have ABS, traction control, different maps, all the technology we usually have on MV Agusta".

Very similar to the pre-production model exhibited in Milan last year (read again), the Turismo Veloce will innovate well by integrating a superb 5-inch panel all in color as standard – but not tactile ?! – which will notably support the Bluetooth connection (see our).

For 3000 euros more, the Tursimo Veloce Lusso – "ma", it bears its name well! – is also equipped with a GPS integrated into the new instrumentation, electronically controlled suspensions and suitcases of 30 liters each mounted via fasteners integrated into the aluminum rear buckle.

The only big difference with what was indicated last year: the engine power has been revised downwards … The Italian 3-cylinder will spit out "only" 110 hp, but its pilot will benefit from "15% more torque over the usual rev range"reassures MV Agusta.

A feat due to "specific pistons and a compression ratio that optimize performance and fuel consumption", detail the Italians: according to their learned calculations, the drop in consumption would reach"-20% compared to current models". The mill would even meet the Euro4 antipollution standard: a small government ecological bonus would be welcome, just to reduce the bill !
