News - Yamaha Motor France launches its GT version of the 900 TDM - Used YAMAHA

Starting from a successful but aging concept, to offer a relevant and economical alternative to customers fond of the GT genre: such is the sensible bet of Yamaha Motor France with this TDM 900 GT ABS, designed and produced for France !

Unveiled in 1991, the Yamaha TDM has always cultivated a spirit of its own, drawing on trail and road skills, without falling into the excesses of the supermotard….

A positioning apart, in accordance with its specific look, which Yamaha fully assumes and which will rally many faithful, thrilled by the versatility of a motorcycle today driven by an 897 cc injected twin-cylinder developing 86 hp.

For 2009, the brand with three tuning forks has decided to add a (big) touch of Grand Tourisme to its valiant TDM, but only for the French market! Designed, developed and produced exclusively by Yamaha Motor France, the TDM 900 GT ABS can therefore be considered "our" new Yamaha 2009 !

However, if this version is intended for bitumen swallowers thanks to a rear shell modified to facilitate the integration of suitcases, a fork crown equipped with hand deflectors and a bubble with copiously increased dimensions, Yamaha explains that this TDM 900 GT ABS is "the result of the experience acquired through its markets with the French administrations".

A reference that can leave you wondering (call for tenders in sight?), Especially since the press release specifies that the TDM 900 GT ABS "benefits from the protective equipment, ergonomics, safety and performance required by the various French administrations "…

Whatever the case, we can only rejoice at the launch of this version which enriches the offer in the mid-capacity GT segment, especially as the transplant of removable cases, mirrors on the fork crown and ‘a new lower fairing protecting the legs and feet is rather successful. The Yam ‘thus takes the opportunity to display a look approaching the sport-GT, for a price much lower than the references of the genre.

Available in March at € 11,429 incl. Tax (i.e. € 1,809 inflation compared to a 2009 TDM fitted with ABS) in midnight blue, gray or black, the Yamaha TDM can also be optionally equipped with two 30-liter suitcases and is supported by a "Full pack" version at 11,649 € which includes a 44-liter top-case – attached to the tubular luggage rack integrating the passenger handles – and a central stand.
