Zero Motorcycles: electric motorcycles for A1 and B licenses

The Californian manufacturer of electric motorcycles Zero Motorcycles is expanding its offer with two limited models at 15 hp (11 kW), accessible in Europe from 16 years old with the 125 cc motorcycle license (A1 license) or the car license (B license) thanks to the ” equivalence and training of 7 hours.

"We wish to remove all obstacles to the acquisition of a 100% electric motorcycle. It is now done with the new Zero FXS and Zero S 11 kW which are aimed at all holders of the B license and at young people from 16 years old ", explains Bruno Muller, former sales manager at Peugeot Scooters who became .

The two motorcycles concerned are models already in the catalog: the Supermotard and the, whose improvements include a significant increase in the quality of their peripherals (Pirelli tires, Bosch ABS, adjustable suspensions, battery up to 13 KWh equipped with with a range of "260 km in the city", etc.).

The main differences with the FXS and S in "Full Power" are the power – limited to 15 hp on the 11 kW versions instead of 44 and 54 hp respectively – and the maximum speed, electronically restricted to 130 km / h.

These 2016 novelties will be available in April 2016 at the same price as the "Full" versions: € 12,590 for the FXS and downright € 15,990 for the S! Prohibitive and not really "electrifying", even if these "battery" motorcycles provide a proven gain in terms of responsiveness to a 125 cc "thermal" (the maximum torque, in particular, is available from idle on an electric motor).

Both can receive an additional Power Tank battery at 2700 € which would bring the range to "317 km" (at 50 km / h stabilized), while a fast charger is available at a price of 660 euros.

Zero Motorcycles also offers the "Charge Tank", a device to be installed in the dummy tank in order to plug into the level 2 fast-charging stations (J1172 socket), available in certain large cities..

With this "Charge Tank", the charging time would be divided by three and would only take "2 to 3 hours", assures the self-proclaimed world leader in electric motorcycles.
