Honda Riding Assist: details from Honda France
Honda Riding Assist technology unveiled at CES in Las Vegas, which allows a motorcycle to balance on its own and even to follow its owner without outside intervention, will it be marketed on "real" motorcycles ? Yes, replies the CEO of Honda Moto in France … but not immediately !
Honda’s performance at CES in Las Vegas is bluffing: a motorcycle equipped with "Riding Assist" technology balances on its two-wheelers without a stand or other intervention and follows its owner (review the).
"Honda regularly develops new technologies, this is a further demonstration of our know-how", rejoices the director of the motorcycle division at Honda France questioned by MNC: "the technology of Asimo (the famous humanoid robot developed since years by Honda, editor’s note) has of course been used, but we have no details ".
Motorcycles of the future: it’s already tomorrow !
Asked about the arrival of this technology on the market, Fabrice Recoque tells us that it is "not planned for the short term, but our company regularly invests in new technologies which one day arrive in the series"…
"Honestly, not in the next two years, without knowing on which model", specifies the director of the motorcycle division: "we must therefore be patient … and recognize the technological prowess!" Because if, as expected, the first 100% autonomous cars start to be marketed within 4 or 5 years (read our), it is very likely that motorcycles equipped with such technologies (or like the) will be in circulation in a not-so-distant future…
