40 million motorists unveils its 80 km / h evaluation committee

Composed of various personalities representing motorists, motorcyclists, cyclists, victims of researchers and experts, this committee will meet regularly to "assess, in the light of objective data, the relevance of the reduction in the limit to 80 km / h in terms of improving road accidents and fatalities and with regard to the consequences of the measure in terms of mobility and economic, social and environmental costs for the populations and territories concerned ", explains the association.

The committee therefore intends to "request access to road accident data from the Ministry of the Interior", on which depends the Directorate of Road Safety which publishes these same figures every month..

"The committee begins its work without a priori and in return, it expects from the administration full cooperation in the communication of the data used and perfect transparency as to the methods used and the results obtained", recalls the chairman of the committee, Jean-Luc Michaud.
