New speed limit to 80: 1 point lost for 81 km / h retained…
The mishap that occurred to one of our readers, a respectable retiree at the wheel of her placid Lexus hybrid, says a lot about the new road "safety" which blithely hits the wallet and the driver’s license at the slightest "excess" of speed: flashed at 86 a week after the entry into force of the 80, it loses one point and 45 euros for "81 km / h retained"…
Even if they certainly prefer the D67 which winds through the superb Loue valley, our readers from Haut-Doubs are no doubt familiar with this beautiful national road between Besançon and Pontarlier (25): the RN57 and its countless speed cameras (a good fifteen signs over 25 kilometers during our last count, with "classic" fixed radars and so-called "site" autonomous radars).

Traditionally calibrated at 90, they now flash happily above 80, since this beautiful road, wide and rather rolling, is two-way and has no central separator for the most part..
So much so that our reader with perfectly flawless driving – especially when she is accompanied by her dear granddaughter, as was the case on July 7 – ends up with one point less for having driven 86 km / h (81 retained), reduced by the passage of 45 euros…
Good news anyway? Some – and even some – have not given up and in front of the Council of State … The hearings are scheduled today: stay tuned !
