72nd Rallye de l’Ain: Objectif Moon !
By winning this 72nd Rallye de l’Ain, Maxime Olivieri takes the lead in the championship but the battle was tough between Maximus and Pierre Mouneu, Team Site driver, who almost won this event trusted by the Monos… Story !
Second round of the first stage
On the second lap, the rain / drying variations continue, leaving more and more room for the rain … On the Preau special, it is especially the top part, the most delicate in terms of grip, which is the most prone to the appearances of the sun or the rain. Located on a very exposed plateau, it dries very quickly as soon as the rain stops and too bad for those who pass on wetter than the others: it is the lottery of the rally !
On this second lap, Manoel Delaval did not give up despite his penalty on the first lap: he once again took the fastest time in 3’05”983. Pierre Mouneu confirms his arrival in the leading trio by slamming the second fastest time less than a second behind Mano (3’06”839) and Fabrice Lescuyer, riding an Aprilia 550 SXV, obtains the 3rd time.
The big connection until the second special of the day loop will be accompanied more and more by rain: this time for sure, we will no longer see the sun on this rally. !
At the Nebois Special, our Pierre Moon from the Team Site really decided to stand out: this time he took the best time of the special in 1’25”197! Behind him, less than three tenths behind, we find the excellent Bruno Schiltz at the controls of the BMW R 1200 HP2 in 1’25”424 and in the same second, Maximus slams a third time in 1’25”918. Then it is the return to Cerdon, city of departure of this 72nd Rallye de l’Ain.
In the classification of stage 1, penalties oblige, we find Maxime Olivieri in the lead (KTM 690 SM) followed by Pierre Mouneu on the handlebars of his inseparable Husaberg 650 and Fabrice Lescuyer on his Aprilia 550 SXV. Pierre is then only 5 seconds from Maximus’ cumulative times: in view of his times, everyone motivates him by telling him that victory is possible! There are three specials left to recover 5 short seconds! Moon does not believe too much but wants to give it a try: a first rally victory, it is trying !
