The 75th Rallye de l’Ain, the fourth round of the 2013 French rally championship, organized by UM Ain, receives as usual the 110 registered in the village of Cerdon (01). We are therefore installed for the fourth round of the 2013 French rally championship. A few drivers are missing out of the nearly 150 registered at the start of the championship (in the Sarthoise event in particular), but let’s not forget that "this is the crisis "and that the large number of events this year has forced some to skip one of the seven events of the 2013 championship, depending on its geographical position.

But the faithful are there and the most regrettable absentee is the sun, which also seems to have skipped this superb rally! The race will finally take place in a continual rain which, helped by strong gusts of wind, will force the race management to shorten the event in the middle of the night stage, the conditions becoming too dangerous….

As for the pilots, the pilot KTM official site Julien Toniutti, leader of the championship, chose this time to ride a KTM 690 Duke R, faithful to his rule of the seven deadly sins, thus illustrating the anger…

The 75th Rallye de l’Ain will also be an opportunity to test an original novelty on the road: a quad throttle-style accelerator adapted to the motorcycle. A Corsican engineer, Frederic Vellutini from the company Inoveli, developed this new form of motorcycle throttle control allowing constant good grip of the handlebars and a reduction in wrist fatigue..

Already tested in Quad, Enduro and Motocross but for the first in road rally on the handlebars of the Husaberg 570 FS number 15 of Mickael Porcu, this product marketed for three months should allow Micka to hold his handlebars even better … Verdict during qualifying tomorrow !

As announced on the Le Journal moto du Net, the route of the 75th rally of the Ain innovates with a first "blank" passage (not timed) in the specials: a first small loop of about thirty kilometers takes the two specials of the rally, Challes and Ceignes (the same as in 2012), before returning to Cerdon for a second start, this time for a loop of about 120 km.

The principle of the "blank pass" is a good alternative to the prohibition of reconnaissance of specials on motorbikes in the days preceding the race. It allows you to validate the supposed feeling during the few passages made previously in the car or van !

The second start given after a neutralization therefore sets out again for 120 km of roads of all kinds (including a part on the). The large loop has to be done twice, before ending the day stage with a last passage through the specials with the small morning loop.

For the night stage, a single large loop is planned followed by a small loop, i.e. two passages in each special.

With more than 450 terminals on the roads of the Ain – including ten rather hardcore specials – and a weather forecast that is not going to be fun, the program is extensive. It remains to be seen who of the young cowboy Mickael Porcu (Husaberg 570 FS with trigger), of the official capital sinner Julien Toniutti (KTM 690 Duke R "Anger"), of the young fool Nicolas "Crazy" Pautet (Husaberg 650 FS "Moon Replica ") or the old Franck Coudert (Ducati 1200 Multistrada electronically assisted) will do well during this difficult event … So action !
