Unbeatable on their land, the Corsican pilots have once again proven that they are masters at home. Michel Marchini (Honda 450 HM) wins the 5th Corsica Rally ahead of two other island drivers for a podium with the heads of the Moors !

Rankings and awards ceremony

Before the awards ceremony, following the tragedy which heavily affected Jean-Mathieu Padovani and the general organization of the fifth Corsica rally, a minute of silence was scrupulously observed by the assembly. The rewards are therefore given without excess or excess.

Unsurprisingly, the winner of the rally is none other than Michel Marchini riding his Honda 450 HM, ahead of Carlo Scanu on BMW 450 GX and Carulu Biancucci on KTM 990 SMR.

In the provisional general classification, Nicolas Derrien (BMW F 800 R Panda Moto) retains the lead of the French championship and Julien Toniutti (KTM 990 Superduke official KTM France) climbs to second place in the provisional, 39 points behind Nico. There are four trials left, anything can still happen !

In Topsport, Carulu Biancucci occupies first place ahead of Paulo Casamarta on Triumph 955 Speed Triple and Julien Toniutti on KTM 990 Superduke.

In the Monos classification, Michel Marchini wins ahead of Carlo Scanu and Paul Christian Piazza on Husaberg 570 FSE.

In Sport, Herve Poggi (Yamaha 250 WRX) wins ahead of Patrick Cosnuau (Kawasaki 650 ER6) and Maxime Delorme (Honda 500 CB)

In the Classics, Philippe Thoumelin (Honda 600 XLR) takes first place ahead of François Maestracci (Honda 750 XLV) and Robert Degaudez (Honda 600 XLR).

On the side of the Anciennes, first place for Gerard Spagli (Kawasaki Z1000) ahead of Guy Marchand (Honda 750 Four) and Noël Offrant (Kawasaki Z1000).

In the Side-cars, the winning team is the friendly Laur / Ferrieu couple at the controls of a Choda Suzuki 1300 ahead of Marlin / Vignand on Choda Kawasaki ZX12R and Quibault / Bulot on Choda Suzuki 1300.

It remains to be seen whether the Corsicans would be as strong on the continent, as for example at the Beaujolais rally, the next meeting of the French championship in Villefranche-sur-Saône on May 14 and 15. To be continued: stay connected !
