MEPs are preparing to examine within the Transport Committee in the Parliament of Strasbourg the expansion of technical control, in accordance with the wishes of the specialized networks (Dekra-Norisko, Securitest, Autosur, Autovision, etc.) which, to boost their turnover, would like not only to strengthen motor vehicle technical inspections (visit every year for vehicles over 6 years old instead of every two years currently), but also to extend it to motorized two-wheelers in countries where this is not already the case.

"The game promises to be tight"

First rejected by the French Parliament (read), then postponed by the European Union (read) before being called for by the future former mayor of Paris (read) and again deemed worthy of interest by the Strasbourg deputies (read), the motorcycle technical control (read our) is talking about it again before its examination by the European Parliament’s transport committee at the end of May in Brussels, then the vote in plenary session scheduled for early July in Strasbourg.

"Widen the circle of opponents"

So much so that the three representative bodies of motorcycles in France recall that "the fight continues" and plan "to widen the circle of opponents to a generalization of the technical control of motorized two-wheelers, in particular against countries where there are for many years (Germany, England …) and which do not understand the positions of countries where it is not in force (France, the Netherlands …) ".

"The game promises to be tight," warn in a joint statement the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC), the French Motorcycling Federation (FFM) and the Collective for the Defense of Green Leisure (Codever), even though several MEPs French like Dominique Vlasto (UMP), Alain Cadec (UMP), Jean-Pierre Audy (UMP), Christine de Veyrac (UDI), Michel Dantin (UMP), Dominique Riquet (Radical Party), Brice Hortefeux (UMP), etc. have already "indicated their opposition to the proposal for technical control of motorized two-wheelers".

And the laces undone then ?

According to still contradictory information – to be confirmed on Monday … – the lobbyists of these large networks are now preparing their spokespersons our representatives to the need to extend technical control to shoes, several pedestrians having been seen recently with a lace undone in defiance of any safety.

But the situation remains particularly confused on the blank Franco-Belgian front because at the same time, other sources report very well organized pressure groups that would be busy in Brussels to set up a Commission for the Control of Shirt Collars (CCCC), in order to fight against the brainless who move freely without having closed the last button.
