BMW F 800 R and F 800 GT 2017: Euro 4, ride-by-wire and other subtleties
Like all motorcycle and scooter production in 2017, the new BMW F 800 R and F 800 GT have been revised in order to comply with the Euro 4 standard. They also adopt ride-by-wire, several driving modes. , a new exhaust and new colors. Presentation.
For 2017, the two sisters and – false twins, since the first is a chain roadster and the second a belt road – receive an electronic acceleration system allowing to integrate two driving modes never seen on these motorcycles: Rain and Road , "one suitable for wet roads, the other for dry roads", translates BMW.
The "ride-by-wire" also allows the German manufacturer to offer its traditional – and optional! – third mode "Dynamic" … for young "dynamic" executives, surely, who like to have fun riding their 90 horsepower mount, and do not count their tickets in their wallet (price not communicated) !
"The motorcycles have been adapted to the new Euro 4 arrangements", underline the Bavarian engineers, specifying moreover that "this adaptation is visualized by the redesigned end of the rear silencer in special steel". You have to have an eye !
Only the biggest fans of the propeller brand will have noticed on the F 800 GT the appearance of new monograms on the fairing and on the screen. Others will more easily note the arrival of new colors for the "mini GT" as for the "mini R", to discover in photos in the galleries below.
