2019 Honda Forza 125 test: always more premium

Honda Forza 125 test – Page 1: thirst for gold
When Yamaha goes for Premium Sport with the, Honda emphasizes class. And it works… Leadership of the French market in all categories since its release, the Forza 125 only bowed its spine in front of its rival Yam ‘during the first months of 2018. 6,300 copies have still passed! last year in France and 30,000 around the world !

With an increase of 3.35%, our country retains the leading position in a European scooter market which is in decline. In the Euro zone, Honda takes the podium with the large-wheeled scooter SH – very popular in Italy in particular -, the "practical city dweller" PCX 125 and its GT model, the Forza 125.
Fabrice Recoque, head of the two-wheeler division at Honda France, is confident in the future. "Despite the arrival of the new T-Max and the announcement of an upgraded Forza, the 2018 model was ripped off until April when the factory stopped production. If the 2019 is currently arriving in a dribble, large quantities will be delivered as of August ". Note that the Forza 125 marketed in Europe will be manufactured at the Atessa plant (Italy), like the previous model.
For 2019, Honda is strengthening the strengths of its already popular GT scooter. On the program: even more cargo volume, an electrically adjustable windshield and improved instrumentation. Enough to seduce holders of the B (auto) license between 25 and 50 years old, who are reluctant to get rid of their sedan in town … A target all the same capable of paying 5,099 for the purchase of a 125cc scooter. Not "Forza" on the price, the Honda scooter !
Take a look back at the 2017 model. That year, the Forza 125 switched to Euro4 and adopted ABS as standard. It benefits from some cosmetic touch-ups, including a smart-key – the famous transponder relegating the lock to the rank of antiquity -, reassembled indicators and slightly revised suspensions. Two years later, Honda adds a technological touch to the protection, so that its customers more often substitute the two-wheeler for their four-wheeler..
The height of the windshield now varies by 110 mm with a simple press of one of the buttons on the left stalk. As for the saddle box, it smashes all records! Already huge on the previous model, it gains 5.5 liters. Housing two full-face helmets and a few trinkets is never a problem! A version of the Forza equipped with a 45-liter top-case is also available at € 5,499.
like father, like son
In 2019, Honda is revisiting – without altering them – the taut forms of the body designed by the stylist of the Vultus, this hybrid between motorcycle and scooter. Even more slender, it can be adorned with two new two-tone colors playing on metal and matt, which are added to the three existing ones. The turn signals integrated in the mirrors and the rear shell, now LED, complete the full LED lighting.
The new instrumentation – which isn’t entirely digital like the X-Max’s – mixes analog and digital. In the center of the speedometer and needle rev counter, a large keypad displays the information commanded on the handlebars: totalizer, partial double, instantaneous consumption and remaining autonomy, time, ambient temperature and battery charge level.
Under the saddle, the 53.5-liter trunk can be divided up depending on what you want to put in it: helmets, bags or computer. Also larger, the storage compartment on the left of the apron can accommodate a 50 cl water bottle. There is a 12 V socket.
Welcome to town, the "Idling Stop" system cuts off – when activated – the engine after a three second stop. It revives with a twist of the throttle. As on the PCX, a decompressor saves the effort provided by the battery. The smart key contact system also controls the opening of the trunk and the fuel flap.
New for 2019, it electrically controls access to the top-box on the version equipped with it, without affecting its capacity. Just walk away from the scooter and it will be locked. Magic, and above all practical !
The water-cooled single shaft single cylinder is identical to that of the SH. It delivers 15 horsepower at 8,750 rpm for a torque of 12.5 Nm at 8,250 rpm. The manufacturer claims to have cared for its response in the 40 to 60 km / h zone, widely used in the city. Its characteristics remain unchanged.
The tubular frame inherited from previous vintages is supported by a 33 mm fork and an aluminum single-sided arm associated with two adjustable shocks in five positions. The rims, 15 inches at the front and 14 at the rear – as on the X-Max – are now fitted with 120 and 140 mm Michelin tires. Braking is provided by two 250 mm discs assisted by anti-locking, but not coupled.
The full weight of 162 kg remains 13 kg less than that of the competitor at the three tuning forks. If the 11.5-liter tank is not very large, the reasonable consumption of the Forza should allow it to cut 450 km between refueling. In the accessories department, there is a luggage rack that can be assembled without modification, heated handles and storage bags to be placed in the top-box..
