2017 BMW S 1000 RR, S 1000 R and S 1000 XR: initial information
The three BMW motorcycles powered by the 999 cc 4-cylinder (the sporty S 1000 RR, the roadster S 1000 R and the sporty "trail" S 1000 XR) comply with the new Euro4 emissions standard and benefit from slight upgrades for 2017. Presentations.

At the origin of the stormy BMW S 1000 series, its engine meets the new Euro4 emissions standard. The maximum values of the 4-cylinder () are however unchanged during the operation: 199 hp and 113 Nm always. Phew !
To muzzle the terrible engine more finely, the S1000RR vintage 2017 receives DTC traction control as standard: this previously optional device measures and acts according to the angle of the motorcycle and can be adjusted in seven levels. The simpler ASC continues to equip the R and XR models.
At the same time, the ABS Pro braking system, which also takes into account the inclination of the machine, logically integrates the "Pro riding modes" option of the German Superbike. It thus joins the "Slick" and "User" settings, the "Launch Control" automated start function and the "Pit Lane Limiter" speed limiter..
Lastly, from a cosmetic point of view, the S 1000 RR comes with a seat cowl (free passenger option) and benefits from a new gray dress. Renewed for 2017, the red and BMW Motorsport colors are slightly revised.
