2017 Kawasaki ZX-10RR: first information
Titled in the WSBK world championship in its first season thanks to Jonathan Rea, the very last Kawasaki Superbike arrives in 2017 in a more radical version focused on the chrono but still approved for the road: the ZX-10RR. With two R !
In the gloves of the ruthless "JR" and "Major Tom", the machine has been the machine for two seasons. tear down unbeatable in World Superbike. To sow terror in national championships or during simple amateur track days, the Ninja acceler-RR…
At its side, the "new" Kawasaki ZX-10RR sees its break-in facilitated by the ultra-hard treatment (DLC) of its valve lifters, its enhanced reliability thanks to its beefier casing (vents between the cylinders narrowed and wall thickened), and its improved quickshiter (Up and Down). The cylinder head is also modified to accommodate the high profile camshafts and special valve springs … which remain optional !
On the other hand, this pure pistarde – approved for road, in accordance with SBK regulations, but without passengers – offers Marchesini forged seven-spoke rims and ultra-sporty tires: Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP. The suspension settings – identical to that of the "simple R" – are revised accordingly.
Stamped with a "double R" on the fairing, the ignition cover and the ignition key, the ZX-10RR differs from the original model by its "KRT Winter Test" livery, black with white flakes. A decoration in perfect harmony with its release date (February 2017, 1000 copies worldwide) … and its price between 21 and 22 000 €, which is slightly cold, right ?! This is the price to pay according to Kawasaki, which reveals neither the maximum power of the RR nor its weight, to improve the lap times of the standard version from 1 to 2 seconds on Autopolis (Japan), the circuit which belongs to Akashi’s firm and where the adjustments are made.
