World SBK: Joan Lascorz is (a little) better

Extremely cautious in their statements regarding the state of health of Joan Lascorz, the members of the official Kawasaki World Superbike team report that their rider is conscious and can move his arms…. Fuerza joan !
At the beginning of last week, the No. 17 of the Kawasaki team in World SBK finally got rid of his tracheostomy tube. The 27-year-old pilot was then transferred from Val d’Hebron Hospital to the Guttman Institute, still in Barcelona (see also).
"Joan remains fully aware, he speaks, has not suffered any mental consequences and fully remembers his accident at Imola", reassure the Greens before specifying that their Spanish Ninja "has found the sensitivity and mobility in his arms and his hands, but has no feeling in the legs and abdominal area ".
A more complete check-up will be done by doctors and therapists at the Guttman Institute "to expose the extent of his serious spinal cord injury and his potential for recovery".
In the meantime, the Provec team (in charge of the Kawasaki Superbike program), Joan and her family would like to thank everyone who supported them, from near and far, during this difficult time. They think in particular of the track mates Sykes, Haslam, Melandri, but also of Lorenzo, Espargaro or Marquez.
Many pilots indeed display – whatever their category – stickers bearing the effigy of Lascorz. "It was very moving to see Espargaro and Marquez fight for victory at the last GP in Portugal with tributes from Joan on the fairings of their two machines", illustrates the Kawa team..
This weekend at Miller Motor Sport (USA), Superbike and Supersport pilots will again show their support via the same yellow stickers with the leitmotif of the friendly "Jumbo": "Never give up, Fighting spirit"…
So many attitudes which also correspond well to John Hopkins, who will return tomorrow on Suzuki n ° 21. As a reminder, the races – to be followed almost live on the Site – will be held exceptionally on Monday evening. Stay connected !
