Supersport Race

Jules Cluzel – who starts from his third consecutive pole! – started in the lead ahead of Michael van den Mark, but Kenan Sofuoglu fell to second place in the first sequence. Raffaele de Rosa, Florian Marino, Patrick Jacobsen, Lorenzo Zanetti, Ratthapark Wilairot, Roberto Tamburini and Jack Kennedy complete the Top 10.

The official MV Agusta n ° 16 went alone in the lead and completed the first lap for almost a second in front of her pursuers who roll in tight rows and literally elbow each other. Italian pilots in particular are boiling hot !

The peloton disperses in the second lap: Sofuoglu, Van den Mark, Jacobsen and De Rosa form the chase group and widen a slight gap on Zanetti, Marino, Wilairot, Tamburini and Roccoli … In front, Jules continues to attack and increases his lead over Kenan: a second and a half in the 4th lap.

Raffaele de Rosa fell on the following lap and gave up his fifth place to another Italian – phew! – Lorenzo Zanetti. The American Jacobsen digs up the hatchet and hoists his Ninja in front of that of the triple Turkish champion! Van den Mark tries to follow him but misses and stays behind Sofuoglu.

The n ° 99 whips his ZX-6R as much as he can but the F3 placed in front of him does not approach a millimeter … Van den Mark unleashes a new attack on Sofuoglu in the double right of "Rio" and succeeds this time to keep the advantage.

Valentin Debise, who is competing in his first World Supersport race of the year, is in 15th position. Florian Marino is in seventh place but has to defend it from the attacks of the Thai Wilairot. Jules Cluzel meanwhile, is still in the lead, a big second ahead of Jacobsen…

Half the race is over and championship leader Michael van den Mark seems to be getting impatient! The Dutchman fails to wallow as he struggles to find an opening on Jacobsen. ‘Magic Michael’ breaks Kawasaki lock in 11th lap…

Our n ° 16 "Coq Supersportif" was two seconds ahead of the n ° 60 Honda at the start of the 12th lap. Jacobsen let go of VDM but stayed a short second ahead of Sofuoglu. Zanetti and Tamburini are on the lookout, a few pitches from n ° 54.

Chased by Van den Mark, Cluzel yields nearly a second to his great rival in the 12th, 13th and 14th laps. The French manhandles his F3 675 as much as he can and ends up moving away slightly from the CBR600RR … The gap goes back above the second two laps from the end !

Three big seconds behind Cluzel, the rookie Jacobsen also keeps his lead over the champion Sofuoglu. Tamburini and Zanetti delight their audience by repeatedly exchanging fifth place. Marino, Coghlan, Wilairot and Rolfo close the Top10.

Jules Cluzel finishes his superb race with a last impeccable lap – like the 18 previous ones! – and wins a masterful victory against Michael van den Mark! Patrick Jacobsen climbs on his first podium in World Supersport, ahead of triple world champion Sofuoglu.

Beaten on the line by VDM at Donington Park then at Sepang, Cluzel won this time and took five points in the championship: the Dutchman’s counter shows 137 points against 107 for that of the French. The two men – very – strong in the championship are ahead of Marino (85 pts), Zanetti (70) and Coghlan (68).
