Others, finally, do not hesitate to unveil real "UFOs": often delusional two-wheelers, sometimes interesting and which have in common a strong ability to attract attention … or to make people smile. !
Like, Site has traced every aisle and examined every nook and cranny of the 2013 Milan EICMA motorbike show to flush out all these salivating, amazing or wacky contraptions and offer you a selection. follow the guide !
BMW Black Mamba by Moto Up: who wants to "fight baseball" ?
Sympathetic delirium of the Italians at home, on a basis of BMW R1100RS: the Black Mamba receives "as standard" a baseball bat holder on its trellis frame, as well as a support to slide a ball under its thin personalized saddle ! At-Beyond these funny details, MNC appreciated the magnificent aluminum tank, the cafe-racer-style cockpit, the polished parts and the very well-integrated silencer in the "home made" low position. Not to mention the daring combination of spoke rims at the front and spokes at the rear! Price: 13,000 €. |
Bylot Fangone Cross: Italian nostalgia
Exhibited on the stand of the rim manufacturer Alpina, this beautiful Fangone Cross is the work of, an artisanal structure created by an enthusiast of "old" off-road motorcycles, Enrico Farina. Under its classic lines are hiding solutions just as "old school": a single cylinder 187.18 cc (fueled and air cooled) installed in a horizontal position and a double cradle steel "homemade" frame.. In addition to its quality of realization smelling passion, MNC also appreciated the use of aluminum at the level of the tank and fenders on this 20 hp motorcycle produced to order and – naturally – individually.. |
Caterham Brutus 750 and Carbon E-Bike: projects to follow…
Working until now in the automobile (in F1, in particular), the inaugurated at EICMA its two-wheel division, with as first projects the Brutus 750 (an improbable motorcycle equipped with an engine and quad wheels! ) and the Carbon E-Bike, a magnificent electrically assisted bicycle (VAE) with a fork evoking the BMW Duolever and an aerial beam frame. Announced for "current 2014", these prototypes are responsible for highlighting the creative talents of this company working in particular on composite materials. Our readers – who, as everyone knows, have more RAM than the others – will undoubtedly note that this Brutus 750 is not really a novelty since MNC already has it, after having seen it on the stand of the Italian distributor. Pelpi International. It should be noted that Caterham is also entering motorcycle competition and will notably have the French rider Johann Zarco run in the Moto2 Grands Prix alongside Josh Herrin. |
Carbonin "charred" the diva Panigale !
is a Slovenian company specializing in the manufacture of carbon motorcycle parts and fairings. Very involved in competition (endurance, World Superbike, English and German Superbike), this manufacturer exhibited in Milan a Ducati 1199 Panigale totally "charred". To the sight and to the touch, the quality of the carbon fiber elements is impeccable. |
Ducati 1199 Superleggera: ma que bella !
On the Ducati stand, the role of "star motorbike" naturally went to the incredible, the famous limited series ultralight (155 kg dry), ultra-powerful (202.5 hp) and ultra-expensive (65 000 € ) developed by the Bologna Reds from the already radical 1199 Panigale R. To highlight this jewel made in only 500 copies, Ducati had set up a rotating podium with the undressed model on one side, while the faired motorcycle was exposed on the other side. Note at the top left the digital display indicating the incredible weight of 165.4 kg above the Superleggera a priori ready to ride ! Despite its profusion of precious materials and its still sculptural lines, the hyper-sports car did not win the title of most beautiful motorcycle at the 2013 Milan show: this distinction awarded by the votes of visitors went to its little "brother ", the . |
Harley-Davidson XLZT3 by Shaw Speed And Custom: simply beautiful
Displayed in front of the stand of the American helmet manufacturer Bell, this superb achievement has "stuck" an impressive number of visitors: examine it in detail and you will understand why! Developed by the English "customizer" (a high-end preparer, specialized in H-D), this XLZT3 is a Sportster revisited in Dirt track sauce. Between the splendid exhausts installed at half height, the generously studded tires, the enormous radial calipers and the Ohlins suspensions, the result is sumptuous. Detail that kills: the starter button installed at the top of the steering column ! |
Racing bikes: from the paddock aisles to the show aisles !
Like all two-wheeler shows, EICMA Milan gives speed enthusiasts the opportunity to fracture their retina on MotoGP, Superbike and all the other racing motorcycles they usually admire on TV every weekend. end. Here is a selection, far from being exhaustive, from top to bottom and from left to right: the Honda RC213V of, the Desmosedici GP13 of Andrea Dovizioso, the Honda RC213V of the LCR team driven by Stefan Brad, the new Suzuki of MotoGP which plans to enter the championship in 2015 and the Ducati 1198R with which Carlos Checa won the WSBK world title in 2011. Small clarification: if some are "real" models from the racing services, others are very well made models or motorcycles from a previous generation. Honda, for example, would not have taken the risk of showing one of Marquez’s motorcycles in Italy the week he played for the world title in Valencia ! |
Moto Guzzi 1000 SP Notello’s One by Noto la Diega
Superb sober and minimalist reinterpretation based on a 1981 Moto Guzzi 1000 SP, produced by Mannuel and Daniel Noto La Diega. A beautiful motorcycle, because it is simple and reduced to the essentials: half-handlebars bracelets, a long flat saddle and a motor. In this case, a big v-twin which overflows generously from the tubular steel part-cycle! Braking is entrusted to Brembo and the exhaust to Lafranconi, as in the heyday. Advertised price: € 15,000. |
MV Agusta Rivale 800 "military" Replica
Just behind the new sporty maxi-trail was one dressed in a military camouflage dress. The visual rendering with the frame and the red rims could be seen from afar … Already this bike is far from going unnoticed with these bold lines ! |
Yamaha specials and preparations: the dark side of the Iwata crest !
Yamaha was one of the most dynamic and productive generalist manufacturers at this 2013 Milan show: not only did the Japanese brand come with a great many new motorcycles (MT-07,, and) and one in its boxes, but it exhibited also sumptuous preparations based on XJR, or even … Tmax. Yes, what you thought was a new cross-country bike (top right) in the Yamaha range is indeed originally a maxi-scooter. ! After the Hyper Modified projects of,, based on Tmax, this new creation goes even further in daring by transforming the "king of the boulevards" into a "terror of the beaten earth"! This Tmax "TCross" is the work of two well inspired Italians, under the coordination of the magazine Riders Italian: the designer Rodolfo Frascoli and Riccardo Girardelli (mechanical trainer in MotoGP and specialist in improbable transformations). At the top left, our readers will recognize the with at its side a second preparation based on XJR1300 imagined by the Australian customizer: the very beautiful "Eau Rouge", named after the steepness of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Finally, the last bike worth seeing on the Yamaha stand: the MT-09 Street Rally (SR), . Presented by Valentino Rossi during an event organized the day before the opening of the EICMA (a promotional video was even shot in his "ranch" where he shoots himself in a Supermot ‘), this bike is one on which Specific parts are added: tank scoops, fork protection, side shields, headlight trim, hand guards. The saddle announced "thicker and flatter" would also offer a different riding position, probably even more typical supermotard, well in the spirit of this variation. Available in the form of kits, this Street Rally will be available "early 2014", assures Yamaha France which has not yet been able to communicate its price to us. No doubt: Iwata’s coat of arms decided to reveal its Dark Side ("dark side" in French) in 2014 ! |
Rizoma: black is black…
Very dark atmosphere on the stand where black covered the partitions and the carpet of the space reserved for the manufacturer of parts and accessories. Even the motorcycles on display were mostly dark black in hue…. The purpose of this staging was to draw attention to the Italian products mounted on motorcycles, which stood out vividly thanks to their anodized colors. The only other pops of color detected by MNC: a white and green one fully equipped with Rizoma parts (levers, master cylinder jar, rear controls, engine guard, etc.), ridden by a very elegant hostess. The Italian class, what ! |
Triumph Scrambler South Garage: for your viewing pleasure
Nice surprise in front of the stand of the Italian group Andreani (specializing in car and motorcycle suspensions): exhibited a magnificent Triumph Scrambler polished down to the smallest details. Built in Ohlins and equipped with an elegant Zard exhaust line, this bike flatters the retina with its polished parts and its qualitative brown leather saddle. A beautiful book, the price of which has not yet been communicated. |
Triumph Scrambler Thirdchance TPR: brilliant !
The explosion of the Triumph Scrambler "Thirdchance" designed by the silversmiths of the Milanese TPR workshop attracted many curious people and made flashes crackle! Equipped with several parts developed by the transalpine preparer (brakes, suspensions, saddle), the "ready to roll" version is sold for € 18,000. |
Triumph Rocket III "U-Boat" by Italo Fontana: at the right time !
Crossed on the official Triumph stand, this intimidating and dark Rocket III "U-Boat" is a limited edition of 100 pieces produced in collaboration with the. The name "U-Boat" refers directly to a luxurious range of watches from the Italian watchmaker, which explains the presence of parts – cut in the mass – evoking gears on the tank. Nothing to do, therefore, with the infamous German submarines of WWII ! |
Tron Lightcycle: a heavy Heritage to carry…
Created for the needs of the American blockbuster, this futuristic "motorcycle" with curved lines was exhibited in an alley of the Milan show. It is in fact a replica in the form of a model of the prototype used in the film.. Note that rolling versions – yes, yes! – directly derived from this machine called "Lightcycle" or "Xenon" (compared to its use of blue neon lights) would have been sold by the American manufacturer of electric two-wheelers. Price of the toy: between 55,000 and 60,000 € ! |
Quadro: 3 and 4-wheelers, in Milan and at the end of the world !
At home, Quadro exhibited the final version of its four-wheeled scooter, the 4D 350. Using the engine base of and the same type of running gear (in particular the HTS pendulum system which ensures the inclination in curves), it is distinguished by his fourth additional wheel. The front and rear axle would operate independently on this convertible scooter whose price and availability have not been communicated. On the stand, Quadro also showcased a three-wheeled "adventurer" version with which an adventurer, Maurizio Pistore, made a journey of more than 100,000 km in favor of the humanitarian association NGO Emergency. From Italy, the man and his scooter crossed 44 countries, from Europe to Australia via Africa and America. |
