01Gen Yamaha

Presented in detail by MNC upon our return from Cologne, it deserves a new spotlight in this special "curiosities" file. Curious mix between a Tricity (front axle), a Tmax (engine) and the superb concept with tilting four-wheelers unveiled by Yamaha in 2007, this 01Gen would be a kind of "cross-over" capable of rolling on and off the road.

At Yam ‘, no one could tell us if this concept really foreshadowed the arrival of a future production model … Who said so much the better ?

Ayrton Senna tribute Bike by WalzWerk racing

With this splendid minimalist preparation, built around a big Moto Guzzi twin, the Germans pay a very nice tribute to the Brazilian formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, who tragically died on the Misano circuit (Italy) just 20 years ago..

Built in only three copies, this "Ayrton Senna tribute Bike" featured prominently on the stand of the American helmet manufacturer Bell.

Concept J Kawasaki

Discovered at the last Tokyo show, it was exhibited for the first time in Europe on the Greens’ stand in Cologne. This futuristic three-wheeled scooter has the particularity of being equipped with a huge rear rim capable of doubling to improve the stability of this low-speed electric machine. !

The driving position is also "variable geometry", the front axle and the controls stretching out or straightening up as desired! Something "phew", condemned for the moment to show off on catwalks … while waiting for reality to join fiction by 2025 ?

Forcefield protective gear

Seen on the stand of the British manufacturer these clever technical underwear with spaces to slip approved protections over sensitive areas (elbows, shoulders, back and chest). Made from breathable and antibacterial fabrics, these close-fitting sets combine comfort, body temperature regulation and protection. Count around 300 to 400 € the whole.

Nurb’s by Krugger Motorcycles

As announced on, Intermot also hosted the world championship of "Custom Bike Building" (construction of custom motorcycles, in good French) during which stood out in the Freestyle category, the most coveted distinction among the 69 registered for this 2014 edition..

Always so inspired, the Belgian imposes itself thanks to the "Nurb’s", an amazing creation based on the fruit of approximately "3000 hours" of work. At the center of this machine, whose rounded fork crown completely covers the cockpit and the handlebars, is the Munich 160 hp "6-leg". Note also its non-traditional front axle, visually identical to the rear single-swingarm. An exceptional machine titled in front of a bunch of other creations yet not stung by worms !

R nineT by Rizoma

Very nice Cafe-racer preparation made on the basis of the by the Italian parts and accessories manufacturer Rizoma. The all-aluminum tank of the is highlighted by careful brushing while an alcantara saddle, flat handlebars and windshield reinforce the sporty side. Rizoma has also placed small LED indicators from its catalog, as well as a license plate holder, levers, a gas hatch and "homemade" bar ends..

Ugbest Electric Scooter

And why not attach a wheelchair to an electric scooter? This is the challenge that seems to be launched, a brand belonging to the Chinese group Zhongneng, which manufactures batteries and electric scooters! We let you judge the result, frankly unglamorous and almost totally disdained by visitors to Intermot…

Scrambler T860 Roadster and XS650 Cafe Racer by LSL

Very beautiful "customized" motorcycles were enthroned on the stand of LSL, a German manufacturer of parts and accessories that willingly pays for the preparation. MNC notably spotted this enticing Scrambler T860 Roadster based on Triumph Scrambler (above) and this Cafe Racer designed from a 1976 Yamaha XS 650 (below). Beautiful, simple and neat at the same time: yabon !

Silencer Ixil

The manufacturers of motorcycle exhausts compete in imagination to seduce the biker with adaptable "looks". This is particularly the case of the Spanish Ixil, whose double bass outlet in the shape of a flute at the bevelled end "Ixrace" suits particularly well to the. And how can we not appreciate the sportiness given off by the tiny carbon-covered silencer that emerges at a right angle under the 4-cylinder of the car. ?

T-Race Diabolika Tacita

Tacita is an Italian manufacturer convinced that electrical energy is ideal for propelling a motorcycle, especially of the enduro type. Launched in 2009, the brand has developed the T-Race in this sense, an all-terrain motorcycle available in cross, supermoto, enduro or rally-raid versions..

Tacita unveiled in Cologne its latest creation: the T-R Diabolika (left above). Like the other TR models, this "devilish" looking machine uses a water-cooled 34 hp and 60 Nm torque electric motor, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Its autonomy would vary from "150 km to 200 km" depending on the driving mode (Eco or Sport) with a lithium-ion battery of 10.6 kWh, half less with that proposed of 5.3 kWh.

The variation is even more important concerning the charging time, which goes from "1h50 to 10h30" depending on the capacity of the battery and the power of the external charger used for recharging (from 1 to 3 kW). Estimated price: between € 20,000 and € 30,000 … Trendy but expensive "green leisure" !

Honda Vultus

The is not strictly speaking a "curiosity" insofar as this astonishing "space cruiser" designed from the Integra 750 is marketed in (small) series by Honda (read our). Nonetheless, its intimidating and futuristic "mouth" classifies it among unmistakably exotic devices. !

Visitors to Intermot were not mistaken and many of them walked around with a puzzled air, before having their picture taken by posing! According to our sources, Batman ordered five copies for his Sunday walks !

Z1000 RF-Biketech

At home, the Germans made an impression with their impressive preparation based on Z1000, a motorcycle whose look is already far from ordinary in its! Here everything is cut towards the bestial and the excessiveness, in the image in particular of the enormous 300 mm wide (!!) installed on the rear rim of 18 inches.

To allow this assembly, the preparers had to create a new oscillating arm and above all to review the configuration of the final transmission, which now involves a complicated system of references. The footplates have also been revised, especially the left one, significantly moved outwards. Advertised price: 19,990 €.
