Patrizia, 58 years old and now known throughout Europe as “the forgotten socialite”, has now made her statement on the incident. On June 18, 2017, she and her husband Carlo attended a trade fair in Moncalvo d’Asti. With the motorcycle from the parking lot, however, he drove alone. In our opinion, three main circumstances led to this:

  1. Patricia could not get on the pillion immediately because the Suzuki V-Strom 650 was parked. So, as planned, Carlo sat alone on the machine, maneuvering.
  2. Patrizia is an experienced, good and therefore inconspicuous companion – the two have been traveling together for many years.
  3. It weighs a mere 53 kilograms.

So Carlo forgot to stop after parking to let his wife get on. This was noticed by the bystanders and, of course, Patrizia – who, unlike the amused witnesses, did not feel like laughing at all. She stood by the roadside for two hours, helmet in hand, waiting for him. “He swore he hadn’t noticed. When he arrived at Europa Platz in Chieri, he wanted to take a break to have an ice cream. He asked me to get off and when there was no answer he noticed that I wasn’t there. “

Carlo immediately called the police and reported angrily that he had lost his wife: “She probably fell off the motorcycle and is injured on the street,” he described to the police with concern.

While the Carabinieri were already doing the motorcycle tour and driving off, Patrizia called him from a borrowed phone: “You left me behind! Are you crazy? “To the Italian press, she said:” I was really maddened. A lot has happened to me in my life, but something like that … not yet! ”She continues:“ When we spoke on the phone, he was very worried. He kept asking me if I was okay. He said he would come to pick me up soon. And so I sat on the floor for another hour and waited for him “.

In the meantime, the police had called the lady to check the story Carlos told them after talking to his wife on the phone. When Carlo came to Moncalvo, he had no words. Patrizia: “When he arrived speechless, I just told him to take me home.”

The woman did not fall and therefore not injured, but whether the marriage is sick, we have no information on this.

With a lot of goodwill, the incident can also be seen as a compliment for the pillion: Only with a particularly good co-driver – the difference between driving alone and in pairs is not noticeable.
