UThe BMW S 1000 XR achieves 20 percent in the crossover bike category every year. This year it was 21.6 percent of the readers who voted in favor of the S 1000 XR. In the 2019 new registration ranking, it just barely missed a place in the top 20 most popular motorcycles. 1,051 copies were newly registered by her last year, which put her in 21st place. The BMW F 850 ​​GS is in 20th place with 1,060 units. The tip of the balance in this case was just nine models, which is extremely scarce in the annual statistics.

Second place in the MOTORRAD readers’ poll 2020 was the Ducati Hypermotard 950 among crossover bikes, pushing its sister brand Multistrada 1260 off the podium. Hypermotard received 14.2 percent of the readers’ votes. In third place, the BMW F 900 XR is a newcomer that does not even appear in the annual review of the 2019 registration statistics, but already ranks 37th in the new registrations from January to February 2020. She got 9.6 percent of the vote in the readers’ poll.

As in previous years, the Yamaha Tracer 900 took fourth place among crossover bikes. At 9.4 percent, it is only 0.2 percentage points behind the BMW F 900 XR. Only then does the Ducati Multistrada 1260 follow in fifth place. Although it is also only 0.2 percent behind the Tracer 900 placed in front of it, it is a painful crash for the large Multistrada. In previous years she always reached number two. The small Multistrada 950 lost one place compared to last year and came in sixth with 5.7 percent of the votes.

5.1 percent of the readers’ votes went to the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 (seventh place), the Triumph Tiger Sport received 3.9 percent (eighth place) and the Yamaha Niken 3.8 percent (new place). Tenth place goes to the Honda NC 750 X. It received 3.1 percent approval, but is one of the three most popular crossover bikes in the top 10 readers’ poll in the 2019 new registrations statistics. With 955 new registrations in the previous year, it landed in 28th place – only the Yamaha Tracer 900 (in new registrations in 12th place) and the BMW S 1000 XR (in new registrations in 21st place) climbed higher than the Honda.
